Faculty Aims

At St John Fisher, we aim to provide a high-quality Art, Design, and Technology curriculum that empowers our students to develop lifelong skills in resilience and creativity. In doing so, we enable them to make a meaningful, essential contribution to the culture and well-being of wider society.

To equip students with a real-world appreciation of the creative and technical industries, they follow a carefully sequenced learning journey. This pathway guides them through the rich history of design, examines contemporary practices, and looks forward to future innovations. Our students discover a diverse range of artists, movements, and designers, allowing them to explore and interpret the world through different cultures and practical briefs.

We believe in fostering curiosity and imagination. Through hands-on experiences in both two- and three-dimensional practices—including the essential, everyday principles of food preparation and nutrition—students learn to analyse, develop, and create. Our ultimate goal is to equip them with the technical skills and knowledge required to find their own visual language, express a personal response, and confidently navigate the visual world.
