In the English department we aim to shape a curriculum which will engage and stimulate as well as being enjoyable and challenging.
Our vision is what the English curriculum is built upon and that consists of expression and empathy, expectations and enlightenment, encouragement and enjoyment. The opportunity to explore other times, cultures, thoughts and ideas through the medium of literature. To spark debate and discussion and to enable the exploration of ideas.
We believe in delivering an accessible English curriculum that engages students by breaking down the learning and providing clear direction in structured steps. This enables students to experience success and equips them with the tools to communicate within the classroom, school and beyond.
